It has been confirmed that a 51-year-old motorcyclist died in an A19 crash.
A19 south was closed after a serious collision during rush hour on Wednesday morning.
The road was closed for a serious accident from A174 (Middlesbrough) to A172 (Cleveland Tontin, Ingleby Arncliffe). The Inrix traffic site reported queuing for three miles.
The accident happened around 8.00 am and the road was closed for investigation. All lanes were reopened at 2 p.m.
North Yorkshire police are urging anyone who witnessed the fatal clash on Wednesday morning to provide any information. They are encouraged to call 101, choose option two, and ask for John Moss; or alternatively send an email to jon.moss@northyorkshire.police.uk.
