The 2022 US Open has become an all-time classic, with Will Zalatoris and Matthew Fitzpatrick at the top of the charts at 4 below the final 18 holes. After both played an important role in the PGA Championship last month, the two are still looking for not only their first major championship triumphs, but also their first victories in the PGA Tour. After playing great for the first three days, there is still work to be done as a number of leading players line up behind them.
Defending champion Jon Rahm, who if he hadn’t made a mistake on the 18th hole, would have taken the lead on the last day at The Country Club, is 3 fewer. He will be in the penultimate group with New England-born Keegan Bradley, who will have the full support of the Massachusetts audience behind him. Masters champion Scotty Scheffler, four-time Grand Prix winner Rory McIlroy and world number 9 Sam Burns are also on the line, creating what will surely be a memorable final round of the 122nd US Open.
