Vince McMahon resigns as CEO of WWE, allegations of misconduct

Vince McMahon appeared on Fox’s SmackDown this Friday night, just hours after resigning as chief executive of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) following allegations of misconduct.

“As always, it’s a privilege to stand in front of you, WWE Universe, especially to stand in front of you in this ring in Minnesota,” said McMahon from the ring at the start of the event this Friday (see video below). “I’m just here to remind you of the four words we just saw in what we call the WWE signature. These four words are Then, Now, Forever, and the most important word is Together. Welcome to SmackDown! ”

McMahon withdrew from WWE’s business while an undercover investigation into a $ 3 million undercover payment to an outgoing employee with whom he allegedly had an affair was carried out to cover up sexual misconduct, it was reported on Friday morning.

McMahon, who has run the company for 40 years after taking over from his father, will still be responsible for WWE’s creative performance due to his incredible SmackDown appearance.

In a statement issued Friday morning, McMahon said: “I have promised my full cooperation in the investigation by the Special Committee and I will do my best to support the investigation. I also promised to accept the findings and results of the investigation, whatever they may be.
