The official start of summer is just around the corner, which can mean only one thing: it’s time to hide in a dark room and watch Apple talk about the future of its operating ecosystems for a few hours. This is WWDC week with Cupertino (well, mostly online, really) and as usual, things start with a big keynote speech on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 PT / 13: 00 ET.
Just as usual (you can set your smartwatch for this), we will keep an eye on you by presenting the news when it happens. I wrote a bit about what to expect from the event here. The long and the short are:
- iOS 16 with updated lock screen, including new widgets and, perhaps, a preamble to the always-on display
- A breakthrough year for iPadOS 16, with more multitasking and support for work
- A look at macOS 13 Mammoth, with some updated settings and applications
- Improved battery mode for watchOS
- Maybe hardware? Can we finally see the M2 chip for Mac and long-standing rumors of AR / VR headphones
Learn the answer to all this and more by joining live at 10:00 PT / 13: 00 ET.
