Police in West Grey, about 25 minutes from Walkerton, Ont., are investigating a homicide and say there is a man believed to be armed and dangerous on the loose.
According to the West Gray Police Service (WGPS) and Gray Bruce OPP, officers responded to a report of shots fired at a home at 4 Gray Road around 3 a.m.
Earlier in the evening, police found a 62-year-old man dead in the Walter Falls area
Police say the deceased is believed to be connected to the West Gray shooting incident.
Officers are looking for 34-year-old Cody Hersom of West Gray and say he is considered armed and dangerous and a risk to public safety.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 200 pounds with a medium build, brown hair, blue eyes and tattoos on his neck, shoulders and chest area. He is believed to be wearing knee-length jean shorts and a light-colored jacket
Anyone who may know of Hearsum’s whereabouts or who may have come into contact with him is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
